Demineralized water (demi water) is filtered tap water and thus free of negative ions from the salts and minerals normally found in water. As a result, this water has a neutral pH value and is free of electrolytes. If you want to make your own water-based care products and/or cleaning products, this is a good basic ingredient. Because demineralized water is neutral, no unnecessary bacteria will get into your homemade products.
However, it is not recommended to drink demineralized water. Although the unfavorable minerals have been filtered out, so have the favorable ones.
