What is Solubol?

Solubol is a plant-based emulsifier that helps essential oils mix better with water. Indispensable when making DIY water-based personal care products, such as a body spray, facial toner or body lotion.

Solubol is a clear, odorless liquid made from vegetable glycerin, water, soy lecithin, coconut extract, vitamin C, citric acid, vitamin E and rosemary extract.

Benefits

Blends essential oils with water

Essential oils dissolve well in a carrier oil, but not in water. Therefore, if you want to mix oil with water, you always need an emulsifier, such as Solubol. This way, your essential oils won't float on top of your room spray or toner.

Natural

Many emulsifiers are synthetic, but Solubol consists entirely of natural ingredients. Moreover, this emulsifier contains no alcohol or other preservatives, apart from antioxidants to protect the product against free radicals.

How to use it?

When using Solubol, always use four times as many drops of it as of the essential oil you want to dissolve. So if you use 4 drops of Lemon Essential Oil, mix it with 16 drops of Solubol and add water.

Please note: Solubol is an O/W emulsifier. It dissolves oil droplets in water. This can be up to a maximum of 2%. This means that for 2% essential oil, you need to add 8% Solubol, to which you can then add 90% water.

It is easiest to combine the essential oil with Solubol beforehand in a dropper bottle, so you don't have to mix the two repeatedly. Is the mixture too thick for the dropper? Then add a little hydrosol, such as Witch Hazel or Chamomile Water.

Why is the use of Solubol important?

If essential oils do not mix well with other ingredients, such as water, they remain undiluted. Most essential oils cannot be used undiluted and are therefore always mixed with a carrier oil. In situations where you do not want to use a carrier oil and you do want to mix your essential oils with water or other liquid ingredients, Solubol is an ideal solution.
